Let’s talk about Social Media Marketing. I am learning more about Instagram and Pinterest. However, I am running a business and I just started Affiliate ads on this blog and a new website. I can tell you one thing. I have made $14 since starting. That is not abnormal because there is such a huge learning curve to making businesses and blogs. The best way to learn is to do. That and learn from others.
So I watch a lot of YouTube training videos. They have helped me to focus on what is important. Things like SEO versus paid ads. And getting attention on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Pinterest.
This post has been all about me, but I am hoping that there are words of encouragement here that will keep you going in the pursuit of your part in Social Media Marketing.
What do you think?
If you have any suggestions or comments, please either leave a comment or you can email me at email@example.com. I look forward to seeing what you have to say and seeing your posts.
I have hoped that I would do things like have a Blog and run Businesses in the past. I did try but couldn’t wait out the time it takes to start making money. So they failed and I went back to “Cubicle World”, which I hated so much that it made me literally sick. I ended up in the hospital and then had to retire early.
Now you are asking, what does she have to be pleased about?, and I will tell you. I am retired and have as much time to put into my dreams as I want to. I now have this blog and a make-up and skincare business. Plus, I have a Flex store. And if that isn’t enough, I am learning about being an affiliate.
If you would like to learn about how to do any of these things, just leave a comment, or you can email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, I would love to hear about your experiences.
I’ve been on WordPress for almost four years now and I have been lucky to meet so many amazing people, read so much great content and find so many new friends here. Here are some important things that I’ve picked up over the last four years of blogging:
1. You need to appreciate the blogging community- The blogging community is a unique and amazing community. The people here have been so inclusive, helpful and supportive and as a blogger you need to appreciate that. It’s like one big family that always supports you and you should try to do the same as much as possible.
2. Haters gonna hate- Even though as I mentioned earlier it’s a family but a big family does tend to always have a couple of haters and much like that WordPress does have some haters who are going to try to put you down, insult your content and leave hate comments. Unfortunately, all you can do is block or ignore them but don’t let it get you down. The love is way more than the hate.
3. Content is more important than likes/follows– Having content that your followers enjoy reading is much more important then the amount of likes or follows you get. Be true to your blog and don’t sell out. If your content is good you will get genuine likes and follows anyway.
4. It’s a two way street- WordPress is very much a two way street. If you want your content to get likes, comments, shares and follows you are going to have to also be active on other peoples blogs. You can’t sit around and expect not to put any effort into growing your blog but still grow your blog. It takes a lot more effort than people usually expect but it’s also very worth it.
I want say thank you to Linda from lindaraesrambling for this collaboration. It was great getting to know you and your blog better and it was super fun working together.
Starting over again. The first blog was about social media marketing which was, as it turns out, a huge subject. In the meanwhile, I have learned about having a business. And I am still learning. I have two businesses and am taking classes to help with the businesses and the social media aspect.
Admittedly, there have been twists and turns along my journey. So, here I am, just six months have gone by and this is the third time I am revamping my blog. That’s because I have learned so much and kept changing my mind. It’s part of the process of learning any new subject. Not that everyone jumps in and starts two businesses but the process of learning makes us change our minds and rethink our paths.
So, onward and upward, as they say. The adventure continues and I’m sure it will be a great one!
